Who we are

Saltmarket Coffee is an independent café on Bree Street, Cape Town. We are the responsible party for the personal information you send us through this website, as defined in South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through the form we collect only what you type into it:

We do not ask for ID numbers, payment details or any other sensitive information. Please don’t include it in your message.

Why we use it

We use your details to reply to your enquiry and to plan a group booking or catering order if you go ahead. We do not sell your details, share them for advertising or use them for marketing you did not ask for.

How your enquiry reaches us

The form is delivered to our inbox by FormSubmit, a third-party form service, which also sends you a short confirmation email. Your details pass through that service, and it may process them on servers outside South Africa. By ticking the consent box you agree to this.

This site does not set its own cookies or run analytics. Fonts and some images are loaded from third-party services, and those services can see your IP address and browser details when your browser asks them for files.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry only for as long as we need it to deal with your request and any booking that follows. We then delete it.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your details, and we only use them for the purpose described here. Email is not a perfectly secure channel, so please keep your message to what we need.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us to:

Email tyler@dreamcorp.co.za and we will deal with your request. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za.
